Program Overview

The BS Zoology program is a four-year degree (8 semesters) designed as per HEC guidelines. It covers animal diversity, physiology, genetics, ecology, evolution, and applied fields such as wildlife biology, fisheries, and parasitology. Students gain hands-on experience through laboratory work, field visits, and research projects.

Eligibility Criteria for BS Zoology

Admission to the BS Zoology program is based on academic merit and fulfillment of the following criteria. Applicants must meet the minimum requirements as set by the university and the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan.

  • Intermediate (FSc Pre-Medical / HSSC) or equivalent with Biology as a major subject.
  • Minimum marks as prescribed by the university (typically 45% or equivalent for general category).
  • Domicile of Punjab or as per university admission policy.
  • Merit determined by academic record and entry test/Interview if applicable.

Course Curriculum

The BS Zoology degree follows an 8-semester structure with a mix of core zoology courses, supporting sciences (chemistry, physics, mathematics), and general education. The curriculum is designed to build from fundamentals to advanced and applied topics, with lab work and optional research in later semesters.

  • Semesters 1–2: Foundation courses in biology, chemistry, and basic zoology.
  • Semesters 3–4: Invertebrate & vertebrate diversity, cell biology, genetics.
  • Semesters 5–6: Ecology, physiology, biochemistry, and applied zoology.
