Scholarships at Baba Guru Nanak University

BGNU is committed to making quality higher education accessible to deserving students. We offer a range of scholarships, fee waivers, and financial aid programs supported by the university, Government of Punjab, HEC, and other partners to help talented students pursue their academic goals regardless of financial constraints.

Types of Scholarships

Merit-Based Scholarships

Awarded to students with outstanding academic performance in previous examinations. Criteria and percentage of fee waiver are announced at the start of each academic year.

Need-Based Financial Aid

For students from low-income backgrounds. Applicants must submit proof of income and family circumstances. The university reviews applications and may offer full or partial fee concessions.

HEC & Government Schemes

Eligibility for HEC-funded and Government of Punjab scholarship programs (e.g., need-based, merit, and special quotas). Students are informed through notices when such schemes open.

Special Quota & Minorities

Reserved seats and financial support for eligible candidates under provincial and federal policies for minorities, differently-abled students, and other designated categories.

Sports & Co-curricular

Recognition for excellence in sports, arts, or other co-curricular activities. Details and application process are announced by the Student Affairs or Sports Office.

Fee Installments & Concessions

Flexible fee payment in installments and one-time concessions (e.g., for siblings, early payment) as per university policy. Inquire at the Treasurer Office or during admission.

General Eligibility

  • Admission in an eligible program at BGNU (BS, MA, etc.)
  • Meeting merit or need criteria as per the specific scholarship
  • Valid CNIC / B-form and academic documents
  • For need-based: income certificate or affidavit as required
  • Compliance with university rules and attendance requirements

How to Apply

  • Check the Notice Board and university website for open scholarship announcements.
  • Collect and fill the prescribed form from the concerned office (Registrar, Treasurer, or Student Affairs).
  • Attach required documents (marksheets, income proof, CNIC, etc.).
  • Submit before the deadline. Incomplete applications may not be considered.
  • Shortlisted candidates may be called for interview or verification.
