A policy framework that ensures quality, ethics, compliance, and impact in BGNU research activities.

ORIC research governance is guided by the following policy areas:

1. Intellectual Property (IP) Policy

  • Ownership and protection framework for inventions, software, and creative outputs developed at BGNU.
  • Capacity-building sessions on IP rights, disclosures, and responsible commercialization practices.
  • Support for patent search, filing, and registration procedures.
  • Transparent benefit-sharing model between researchers and the institution for commercialized IP.

2. Research Administration and Management

  • Lifecycle management of funded projects from award to closure.
  • Compliance assurance with HEC, donor, and university regulations.
  • Standardized reporting, documentation, and utilization tracking.

3. Research Collaboration and Partnerships

  • Institutional collaboration with national and international universities, councils, and industries.
  • Coordination of joint research initiatives and knowledge exchange programs.
  • Policy oversight of MoUs, implementation plans, and progress review mechanisms.

4. Support for Researchers

  • Research support services for proposal writing, publications, and grant administration.
  • Regular training and mentoring sessions for faculty, researchers, and students.

5. Promotion of Research Culture

  • Promotion of a performance-oriented and collaborative research culture.
  • Encouragement of interdisciplinary research and cross-faculty engagement.
  • Recognition of high-impact publications, patents, and innovation outcomes.

6. Public Engagement and Impact

  • Dissemination of research findings for community awareness and policy relevance.
  • Support for converting research outputs into practical, scalable societal solutions.
  • Strategic communication of BGNU research strengths and achievements.
