Quality Review

Self-Assessment

Assessment of academic programs following the HEC Self-Assessment Manual.

Self-Assessment Process

QEC at BGNU conducts self-assessment of academic programs in line with the HEC Self-Assessment Manual. The process ensures continuous improvement through structured review, evidence-based findings, and measurable implementation plans.

Step 1

Preparation of SAR by Program Teams

Program Teams (PTs) prepare the Self-Assessment Report (SAR) through the following stages:

  • Selection of programs for self-assessment.
  • Notification of Program Teams through BGNU-IQC.
  • Training of PTs for SAR preparation by QEC.
  • Provision of SAR documents and templates.
  • Submission and quality review of SAR by QEC.
  • Final SAR submission through concerned Chairperson/Incharge.
Step 2

Assessment Findings and Implementation

Assessment Teams (ATs) evaluate and submit findings to drive quality enhancement actions:

  • Selection and notification of Assessment Teams by the Vice Chancellor.
  • Orientation and training of Assessment Teams by QEC.
  • Departmental assessment visits and evidence verification.
  • Submission of findings according to HEC format.
  • Exit meeting with QEC, PT, AT, and department leadership.
  • Executive summary submission and implementation plan follow-up.
Structured

Clear and phased process from SAR preparation to action tracking.

Collaborative

Involves PTs, ATs, QEC, and departments in quality dialogue.

Evidence-Based

Decisions rely on documented findings and measurable indicators.

Improvement-Focused

Follow-up ensures implementation of corrective quality actions.
